Gears 5 Message Board  

So the Gears version is from Game pass on win10 - ver 1.1.962.0 (110697105).

I've done the following
- Run trainer first
- Open launcher
- Open Gears5
- Press ok on Launcher (launcher vanishes)
- Try to activate Trainer which says the following:

15:19:14: Gears 5, 03-07-2021 (STEAM/WINDOWSSTORE)
15:21:22: Failed attaching to process (ERROR_ACCESS_DENIED) which means the game is very likely protected by anticheat software. Please check out the trainer notes to see if there are any special instructions.


Am i doing anything wrong?

This game comes with Easy Anti Cheat, which is designed to prevent online multiplayer cheating. We DO NOT CONDONE PVP ONLINE CHEATING IN MULTIPLAYER ENVIRONMENTS!

However, the game ALSO has Campaign which can be played offline.

To be able to use the trainer with the game, you MUST run the included file:

CH Gears 5 Launcher.exe

Run the TRAINER FIRST.

Then run:

CH Gears 5 Launcher.exe

then follow the instructions.

You will NOT be able to play with or against other people online while the launcher and trainer is running.

Steps:

Run trainer
Run CH Gears 5 Launcher.exe
Read and follow and click prompts in CH Gears 5 Launcher window.
Run Gears 5
Leave the launcher running in the background as it states. If you close the launcher the game will close and/or the trainer will not work.
When done playing, close the game, then click the OK in the launcher to close it.

DO NOT TRY AND PLAY ONLINE. YOU WILL JUST CAUSE ISSUES AND LIKELY BE BANNED OR SOME OTHER PROBLEM. Trying to cheat ONLINE will just get the ability for people to use trainers for the Campaign to be defeated. DON'T DO IT!

No, I followed the exact instructions posted here and still.... failed, failed, failed. No trainer works with this game anymore.

CH mods tend to repost trainer instructions as a response. Which is valid because most of the time its user error.
After following instructions below (which are listed in the trainer instructions), I used the CH Gears launcher and got it to work. Using the launcher may have been unnecessary. *shrug* Hopes this helps!

"If you want to try and launch the game yourself without launcher or there is issues you can try the following:

Delete folder here:
C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\EasyAntiCheat\269
Disable your internet adapter temporarily or disable the internet
run game
Once the easy anti cheat pops up and goes away, re-enable your internet adapter or internet
Proceed to activate trainer."

Sometimes the game companies drop their anti-cheat software after the game has been out for so long without telling us. That is typically why it's left into later versions, just simply because it was (and still may be) required, at least at one time.

Didn`t work for me (deleting Easycheat 269 folder). Same error:

You have to be able to run the GAMEPASS or WINDOWS STORE version without EAC running and blocking you. If you can't follow the instructions or they don't work, there is nothing we can do to help you here.

Likely for Gamepass, you can delete the files for EAC, and then toggle the internet OFF, and run the game, then toggle it back on once the game runs and this will bypass EAC. There is instructions for that elsewhere, but Gamepass games with EAC are notoriously not easy to bypass the kernel mode protections.
