I just got a big screen 55" (UHD) setup, and this app won't let me scale it to not be so tiny.. None of the options in the setup menu allow me to select them execpt the drop down box.. I'd like to be able to use this program without straining my eyes. If you have any good tips I'd appreciate it.

It should be larger on a 55" TV unless it's running 8K or something than on a regular size monitor. No other suggestions other than messing with the "Allow Scale and Layout DPI changes" in the app's settings and then messing with your monitor/TV's DPI scaling options.
