    i think thats how the game works, everytime you re-enter your ship it calculates the amount of energy you have left and biomass storage etc.
    same with max crew, you can go as high as you want with quarters, but you cannot have more then 40 crew anyhow.

    Just something I think you should know. I tested the trainer on the steam version and the game doesn't crash when I lock the values. I don't have an explanation as to why. But it hasn't crash on me yet. Maybe the steam version is more stable? I don't really know.

    I was playing the game yesterday and it crashed with the values locked so I don't really have a way to explain this "sometimes it crashes sometime it don't" behavior. If I find answer I will defiantly tell you. Catch you later.

    I've also noticed that attempting to lock the max value of some things really makes the game unstable.

    Also, turrets can get extremely buggy if you lock the number at max value or higher. They can spawn with 0 ammo. They fire one burst, then explode. Playing with the number of turrets and locking them to a certain value does some REALLY crazy things. Like I recall having turrets that, when placed, had ammo counts that went off the screen. Sometimes when I lock it to 2 turrets it'll spawn with something like 700-ish ammo. Locking it to 2 turrets seems the most "stable."

    If you use a ton of turrets, the game likes to crash if you place them very rapidly, too.



    EDIT: I put some time into this and did a bit of experimenting.

    Basically, as long as you don't have anything locked when you come back from a planet, you're pretty much fine. That seems to be the only time the game "recalculates" everything, which is when it usually crashes.

    In addition, NEVER have the game locked at 1 turret or place them too fast. If the count reaches 0, it'll crash.

    ....at least that's my own experience.
