I have performed every reasonable step to get this trainer to work and have yet to succeed. I've gotten just about every error other people are posting about. First on my existing, unmodified version (I always wait for CH trainers) then on a fresh install. I guess I'll just wait for a more stable version or something.
Computers deal in logic, not reason. Approach the problem from there.
Or... we could work at this a little less and just wait for a trainer that works.
My steam is installed on my secondary drive under d:steam,steamapps,common,FarCry5 and it still can't find it.
There is some other issue at work here.
Since I have help others getting it going, I know it does work, why it's not working for you is a separate matter.
For the method that works for me,
1) If running already, quit game completely.
2) Disable Antivirus software.
3) Run trainer as administrator.
4) Use F2 to manually find root of game folder
5) Exit UPLAY and Steam
6) Press F1 to activate trainer on primary monitor if you're running multiple monitors.
7) When Steam opens up, should launch UPLAY right after. Did not ask me to confirm in Steam.
8) Don't move anything while game boots.
9) If trainer cannot find game, repeat.
Hope this helps!
I have tried this, I have the uplay version and the uplay window for Farcry 5, where you can click play opens up and then I get the message trainer cannot find game. The install dir is G:\ubi\Far Cry 5

since nothing ever made by Ubisoft to my knowledge had a path starting with driveletterhere:\ubi, I'll assume its one you created. Is this on a portable external usb drive? If so strike one right there.
No, it isn't an external drive, just a dir I created on an internal one. My guess is, as at the window from uplay, when the trainer quits, you can click play for Farcry5, but the you still have to choose between Far Cry 5 and FarCRy Arcade Editor.... perhaps that is what is confusing the trainer?
Here is a screenshot, of where it boots the game to. It finds the install dir fine, but then hangs on this step
If you get Unknown file version (C:\Program Files(x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\FarCry5\bin\fc_m64.dll)
it is probably because you either replaced it or used a trainer from another site and it replaced it for you, if you do not have the original backed up then you will need to re-install the game. That or it's corrupt. Or you have not run the game 1 time witout trainer first so it could connect to ubisoft and verify.
If you get trainer cannot find game, not all of your antivirus settings are off or the trainer is not open on your main display.
Well, I do get that unknown version message, and I did not try trainers from any other source, I only trust CH for obvious reasons and always follow instructions to the letter, didn't tamper with the game in any other way than using the CH trainer and it still happens to me.
Just to be clear, each time I run the Trainer, it does something and Steam's integrity check finds 1 file not valid and redownloads it. Happy to share screen or whatever info to prove my statements.
Gonna try to reinstall and see what happens and report back.
You have to run the game 1 time first with no trainer so it can connect to ubisoft and verify itself then exit the game and restart it with the trainer.
I have been playing since release, so the game works fine and its activated.
A bit more info, Im on win 10 x64, nvidia card, other CH trainers like GR Wildlands run perfectly, have bitdefender completely disabled the whole security suite including real time monitoring.
Steam reports current content BuildID as 2622937
I did reinstall the game from scratch after a reboot and all that and ran trainer being aware of all things to consider AV and security suite completely disabled, admin rights, etc.
BTW ran the game once and loaded my save game to be sure, then closed it, before opening the trainer, also ran an integrity check and all verified and fine.
Then I ran the trainer as admin, left it on main display, was dragging it before to the secondary one.
Trainer cannot find game, then it gives me a FarCry5.exe error that says the application was unable to start correctly 0x0000142. Click OK to clise the application.
Click Ok, and that's it for this attempt.
Then i run the game again without the trainer without issues.
Then I disabled my secondary display completely, just one monitor enabled and tried again, and then i got the 0x0000142 error AND the unknown version error, I attach a screenshot with both messages.
Then i ran another integrity check on Steam and it did find a validation issue and did a download again of 123.1 mb
Then if I close everything, reboot, start steam and uplay, run another inegrity check correctly validated, run game once correctly play my saved game and restart the trainer process something happens along the way that ends up like this all over again.
I attach to this a mashup of screenshots of the errors and download by FarCry after integrity check.
