Ah . . COD 1 . . . allow me to reminisce . . . It was the very first video game I ever played. It was a sweet game then and despite its age and rough graphics now, it's still a wonderful old gem. CoD 1 came out when games were honest, you bought and OWNED your game and could sell it if you wished. No Steam, no Origin, none of that stuff. It was a loooong, game too -- something like 27 missions. I picked this up secondhand and taught my brother to play it; it was his first video game, too. CoD 1 is where Captain Price made his entrance, a character that went on to be repeated in many subsequent CoD titles. His weapons, garb and sophistication evolved but he remained one of the more endearing components of later titles that somehow didn't have the charm of CoD 1. I consider CoD 1 to be one of the granddaddies of FPS games. (oh yeah, this was pre-CH -- with patience you could alter the coding yourself to get through hard parts)

Am I looking forward to a return to WWII? You betcha. I've appreciated the later futuristic titles but they just never grabbed me like the WWII titles. I'd like to see a WWI COD title too but Battlefield got in there first.

Will buy it as I buy every cod.

But can never bring back the golden days when I used to play online everyday with fiends, as life takes over 😭
