Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim Special Edition Message Board  

I wanted to ask the CH community if they knew a way fix a bug problem I'm having with Skyrim SE, but I didn't see a thread for that, so here we are. I figure others can use this same thread to ask and answer such questions as well.

My problem is I can't recruit a follower, because the game seems to think I already have one. Anytime I ask a follower to come with me they say I already have someone with me. Is there a console command to fix this? Maybe one that dismisses any follower in your company(even though I don't seem to have one). If I do; I certainly don't remember asking anyone along and I don't see anyone with my character.

PLEASE HELP

just a thought...doesn't Jarl Balgruuf the Greater give you a follower after you finish a quest for him early in the game in whiterun.....maybe that's the problem...just a guess....

Thanks for the suggestion. After much time and effort, I managed to trace the problem back to a Companions quest called "Purity". For some odd reason the quest doesn't work right for me. Anyway I had moved on when the quest didn't work. The game however registered the NPC Vilkas as following me although he never did. I was aggravating, but I ended up using a old save that set me back several hours.

My game is glitching out pretty bad...


I have a messenger dude spawn when I've moved to a different town and he babbles on about every note ever.... then I see a black screen the the desktop.. yeah THIS GAME never did this before, I rarely used the trainers before... also I noticed that the AI still attacks and stuff still gets drained, this is what is was like before the newest trainer that came out today...

I resorted to using TGM and TCAI but then what's the point of the trainer? It does save me some time, A few missions auto completed, like the first few that would have required me to spend an hour doing stuff.. I'm not sure if it's the easy crafting or what..

the editor part of the trainer for the special edition 1.6 has many of its stats mixed up (using steam version)

max health = stamina
Max magica = increases nothing

some of the skills actually increase another skill

Please use the proper thread and not dig up 5 year old threads that have nothing to do with the trainer.
