The trainer is not working for me. I open the trainer then press F1 at the menus. Afterwards I wait until the game is running, then I tried to press all the hotkeys but none of them works. Is there something I'm doing wrong?

When you pressed F-1 at the menu did you hear the words "Trainer Activated?"
Is your numlock on?

As Jaks already suggested: Is your Numpad enabled?
Or did you read the instructions provided with the trainer? You have to do certain things ie select a city or a unit prior to use an option.

run game
load save or start civilization
wait until you can move your units and see your city ,etc.
THEN press F1 to activate

Yes I made sure that my numlock is on and I've followed all the instructions that came with the trainer but no luck.
