Windows 10 built in antivirus (Microsoft security essentials I believe) is giving me virus warnings for the new stellaris trainer. Even if I allow it it'll detect it again under a different definition 30 minutes later and remove it anyway, any way around this that anyone knows?

Contact Microsoft and tell them to remove the false positive from their database? Ditch Windows Defender/Security Essentials and get an AV product that actually does what you tell it to do?

Add a folder somewhere and put all downloads from CH in there. Open Windows Defender settings and add the newly created folder as an exception. (roughly 4 headings down)

You should not have any more reports after that.
