With Bit Defender (god help us all), the trainer itself has to be excluded as well as the WORK folder usually found in

C:\Users\USERNAMEHERE\Cheathappens\Work

then there is a module called Advanced Threat, it too must be disabled.

Thanks for the reply CyPHer369 .. yep, I have that entire folder excluded.
Also for this last update I TOTALLY disabled bit defender. It is a great tool but so hard to configure .. I think I have it worked out now. I specifically went in to do it again but it was already fine. I deleted the rules I had set and remade them for the xxx.3. Made sure game and trainer are running as admin .. and rechecked bitdefender has nothing active.
The xxx.2 trainer works dandy almost..
I am open to any suggestions ..

At the moment all I can think of is:

Delete trainer and all files in

C:\Users\USERNAMEHERE\AppData\Local\Temp
C:\Users\USERNAMEHERE\Cheathappens\Work

Reboot PC to clear excess memory, get a fresh copy of latest trainer and
make sure trainer in is folder excluded from virus scans.

C:\Users\USERNAMEHERE\Cheathappens

may need to be added to exclusions as well. Run trainer as admin and try again.

LOL .. just spotted the uninstall bitdefender link. Before it runs out I WILL be looking for another one. Horrid user interface and configuration.

Sorry CyPheRR369, followed everything religiously ... PC rebooted, bitdefender totally shut down. directories deleted/emptied.
Same thing.
xxx.3 (brand new download, old one deleted) crashes immediately after going to look for the game .. probably when it finds it.
xxx.2 works dandy
It is moot anyway as BitDefender is shut down following your links instructions to the letter. I shifted the trainer to the cheathappens folder which is already excluded and made another exclusion for the new trainer.

The only thing I can see in STEAM DATABASE is they moved to a new beta and completely removed the entire previous version, If you are using a save game from before or still have older version files, is probably why the old trainer works somewhat. Most alpha versions recommend a complete wipe and a new start for the latest version and it looks like they are applying updates the same way for betas if I am reading the manifest additions ans subtractions correctly. I would try starting uninstalling the game and get a fresh download of it so there is nothing left over from previous versions then start a new game. If it continues like this, the title may need to be put on hold until they figure out what they are doing and the updates slow to a more normal schedule. I mean, they already have DLC and the game is not even full release yet????

Just to clarify .. I have been thru the 64bit game upgrade. I believe Caliber put a long time into the new style trainer.
I started a new game with each and every test I did, as I am aware of that problem. This was confusing till I cottoned on with another game.
The trainer that still works for me is the 0.996.2 Trainer, its functionality hasn't changed for me. Still works fine even with a new game as explained above. Its a 64 bit trainer. I'd expect it to still work at least partially since the last update was small.
Its the latest 0.996.3 trainer that won't work for me at all. It crashes when connecting to the game.
I don't know but suspect the difference between the xxx.2 and xxx.3 trainers is very minimal. I can easily see a finger fault causing this ..
Unless the difference is huge, i doubt this as the last trainer still works for my play style? If the latest trainer works your end this complicates matters. Do we have other community testers, any feedback? I am well aware some obscure program/service unique to my pc might be the cause .... I do think this is a small possibility though since the xxx.2 trainer still works fine. You might need to ask whoever made the latest trainer what changed between the two versions?
I have been rigorous in shutting down bit defender. I'm a nerd and my degree long ago was IT. I'm also happy to find it was my fault and tell the community why in case they have the same issue. Its a head scratcher. I went as far as removing a paid copy of malwarebytes just in case it was it and looked for other "protector" programs lurking i wasn't aware of. I made sure windows defender was not active, its firewall and antivirus is controlled by the dreaded bitdefender which was shut down.
I think the next step if you haven't already is finding out the difference between the last two trainer versions.
Re putting the title on hold .. seriously wondering why you haven't already lol. The official release was supposed to be this month. Then there will no doubt be teething problems. I don't think a single soul will fault you guys for putting it on hold for a couple of months ... well the multiplayer crowd might, pushy lot This game is going to get bigger once released and the Men of War Assault Squad crowd transition over to the new and better engine. Thankfully the modders will be here soonish : )
I have a trainer that mostly works so I'm grand ... I am only being pedantic, possibly annoying, just to let you know .. if no one tells you, you won't have a clue there is a problem. My early career was tech support and explosive yelling out of the blue calls, generally could have easily been fixed earlier if we had known there was an issue to begin with.
Cheers ... and yep, i'd put the game on hold.

I'll check this when I have more time. This is not the only title we are working on. There is other titles (Vermintide 2) that have 10000 more users and downloads and are relevant titles that require my attention right now.

thx for savegame and it's also useful if you can post where these savegames go and how to get whatever it is you are wanting me to look at to appear to whatever, so I don't spend 45 minutes trying to get the savegame loaded or figure out how to view/see/modify MP on single player game.
