everyone in the world is trying to finish downloading.. thusly, the game is unpacking and it looks like it might take another 30 minutes or more just to run it.
might have been quicker to just download from scratch rather than this stupid steam pre-load, finish download, unpacking, which takes longer many times than if you had just downloaded it to begin with (i.e. if you have fast connection).
maybe i will be able to run the game before midnight..
lol
I preloaded. Game unpacked/decrypted for me in 15min. Installed on SSD and 4MB/sec connection.
so can we run the game offline or is it absolutely necessary that we create a rockstar account?
does the game patch immediately through rockstar?
best,
Cal

The patch is automatic as far as I know and you need a rockstar account. I believe it works offline though, don't quote me.
For everyone else there are some codes for the game through the use of button combinations like they had on console. Try those. If you are using an xbox controller follow the code for the xbox version of the game. You might be able to go invincible and such that way until the trainer is available.

Yeah you aren't kidding Cal! It wasn't too bad on my machine but friends of mine are still at 25%. They should really partner with a better zip system. Payday 2 is the worst offender with this though.

I deleted PD2, I hate that cashgrab of a DLC ridden game. And good riddance to it too. Downloading and installing it so many times took way too long. but GTA5 hopefully wont be like this in future updates...
