I played online using a couple of the features and I only use them after asking those in the lobby if its ok if they just want to screw around on some jobs at normal difficulty.
Realistically as long as you're respectful and don't **** people off you'd be surprised at how many you come across who are ok with some cheating. I recommend to avoid using any cheats at all cost in Death Wish or on any stealth heist because that is where you will see a lot of purist players who report most cheaters as soon as they see and can record them.

Pretty much the only thing Overkill can do to you if caught using cheats is take away your forum privileges and kick you out of the community group. Even with this ban? you can likely still use the trainers to gain access to these things. I know I was able to access the various shotgun ammo types and I haven't even bought the shotgun DLC for example.
I get wanting to promote fair play, but to be honest? The over-the-top lengths they've tried to go to are just silly. This game is entirely co-op, the only way you can even hurt your teammates are via explosives. If someone doesn't want to bother with the grinding, I say let them. They aren't taking away from anyone but themselves.
