While this is certainly good news for me, unfortunately, no one else has ever reported it. Is this game dead to cheat happens users, I wonder?

It is an old title and they have already released the next game of this serie. However trainer has been updated and will be posted soon.

The next game? Please enlighten me about it as I am not sure about what do you mean.

Talisman: The Horus Heresy maybe? -> Link

I wouldn't consider that a sequel, it's more like another way to play talisman instead. It's set on the Warhammer 40000 universe and it has the same rule system that Talisman uses.
Plus, the physical board game of Talisman has even more expansion packs to offer, so it will still continue to be developed for a while, at least until all the physical expansion packs are ported into this game. That's my guess.

Ok, just now I was able to test the new update and let me report the issues I have with it:
Roll number 1-6 options: They work Fine. fine.
Increase Fate(it's a typo on your end, I guess, but it never was "Faith" and Gold options: They work fine.
Increase Craft Option: Increases Lives instead of Craft.
Increase Lives options: Doesn't work at all.
Increase Strength Option: Doesn't work and makes it impossible to progress the game further. (If you can close and restart the whole game before a turn passes and therefore the game autosaves itself, you can still revocer from this bug)

So.. the situation is basically this. Lives, Strength adn Craft options have some problems.
Please note: I have ALL the expansion packs.
