Am trying to use the trainer, as really the only function I'm looking for in a cheat for this. Its behavior is quite odd however, and not like in the demonstration video.

What is happening (Barracks Health as an example):

    - I go into the barracks and select the first member listed

    - I hit "Numpad 0", and I hear "activated"... after a few seconds, I will hear "deactivated"

    - If I hit "Numpad +" or "Numpad -", BEFORE hearing the "deactivated" nothing happens (as in, no "activated" as well as no in-game effect)

    - If I then hit "Numpad +" AFTER hearing "deactivated" from the "Numpad 0" press, I will then hear "activated" every time I press "Numpad +"

    - If I then switch to another squad member and back again, I will see the changes to the health as expected.

So while the above works, the behavior is odd and not what I was expecting. I have tried this for Barracks Health, Barracks Defense, Barracks Willpower, and Barracks Aim -- they all work the same way.

HOWEVER... I then leave the barracks entirely, come back in, and select a different member of my squad. I hit "Numpad 0" and listen for activated/deactivaed, then hit "Numpad +" a few times and hear activated each time. I then go to the next squad member and return... but this time there are no changes. A little bit of digging later, and I discover that my changes were made to the first squad member in my barracks listing.

This seems to be the case no matter what I do. I have tried opening squad members in different orders, making sure to ONLY hit the "Numpad 0" (or similar when trying Willpower/Aim/etc) when on the squad member that I want to change -- none of it matters. The changes will go only to the first squad member in my barracks listing.

Would love to get some help on this - either let me know what I can do to get around this, or an update to the trainer to fix this.

the instructions describe how to do this properly.

fyi, the reason we have to create options that function with instructions like this is because the game developers put 12+ scanners into the game to detect cheats and changes to the game code. So our trainer has to operate a certain way to remain undetected and not crash your game.

    best,

I have the current version of the game 1.0.0.9040 with the matching trainer. The money, scientist, engineer functions work fine in the mission base. But during the missions the health, off, def., and will do not work. I hear the activated msg and know to move up to the next solider in rotation so see the results after it deactivates, but the upgrades are not working. Any help in getting all the functions working would be appreciated.

Took a bit for me to get those working ages back.
The way health, off., def. work in missions are a bit tricky. Are you sure you're following the steps exactly as listed?

    Quick run down
Select the solider in the rotation BEFORE the one you want to change stats.
Hit the desired option, you'll hear ACTIVATED, then immediately TAB to the solider you want to have the changes applied to.
Wait a moment for DE-ACTIVATED then IMMEDATELY press the NUM+ NUM- or NUM* to add, sub or max out the stat.
When you press any of the three keys (+ - or *) you should hear ACTIVATED for each press.

When dealing with health you'll see the changes immediately, for off. and def. you'll have to open the INFO window to see it (default is F1 in game over selected solider)

Hope that helps if you need a visual example I believe the trainer page for the game has a video example.

    Cheers!

Appreciate the info Ren, your advice cleared things up and it worked fine for a few days. Then I accidently hit the Esc key instead of the F1 key when I went to activate the trainer.
Now the trainer starts stating 'activated' 'deactivated' over and over consistently until it times out and a windows 'xcom trainer has stopped working' message pops up. I tried to delete and reinstall the trainer and the game but the issue persists. Bad mistake on my part hitting that Esc key. Is there anything I can do to get it working again? Thanks in advance.

I could use a little help figuring out which trainer to use.
I have the game and the Enemy within DLC.
So my question is, do I use the Enemy within trainer or the "Enemy Unknown" trainer?

If you're playing a 'Within' story you have to use the within trainer/editor as its a different 'game' from unknown.

Unknown and Within are basically different game modes. Within building on top of Unknown's game resources, changing up code and the game version.

Basically you can still play 'Unknown' and use that trainer just fine. But to play Within you have to use the Within trainer. (if I made any sense XD )

(Really) Hope that helps clear things up a bit
