When I posted the following: "I don't understand why the trainer would be abandoned on account of VAC being made available. VAC is just an optional feature that each server owner may or may not enable at his or her discretion. I agree that it would be unwise to use the trainer on a VAC enabled server, but on your own server(if VAC is disabled) or offline seems like it would be fine."
I actually was meaning it as a question, waiting for someone to explain to me why I was wrong. Since there were no comments can I assume that I am correct in my opinion?

There is no offline mode for this game. That is why the trainer was retired, it has the potential to get your Steam account banned due to VAC. If an offline/SP only mode is added, I'm sure the game will be removed from the retired list.

Who cares how you play the game, winning is all that matters.

Okay yes, loggin is required for single player, but what I'm saying is that VAC is an option in the online config file that is not mandatory for a server to use. My server is set to vac = false. When Vac is enabled it even gives you a warning on the loading screen. On single player and on servers with vac set to false, the vac warning does not appear. I allow the use of trainers on my server for people who just want to be creative with pve and so far there have been 0 VaC bans.
The game has no truely offline single player. Even if you can disable VAC the risk is too high. From my experience the common player wouldn't take a look at any setings at all.
There is no point for discussion. If the developers add a real offline playable singleplayer I'll continue supporting the game. So long it's retired.

No, you only have to disable VAC if you are a server owner. There is no VAC for single player that I can tell, so unless that changes I will continue using programs normally. Since this trainer is retired, I will see what's available after the next big update and if anybody needs a trainer at that time, feel free to message me and I will share what I find.
p.s. If me or any players who I know that use trainers or outside programs receive a VAC ban. I'll post the details somewhere on this website. As things stand, if you use trainer or external programs such as "cheat engine" do not join vac enabled servers while doing so. When vac is enabled, you will see a warning on the loading screen while logging in and it will tell you as much in the server description before you join.
