I cannot verify an issue wiht trainer activation, it seems to work fine with latest game version:

Can confirm
I am on GOG Version 1.6.2F3 and the current trainer activates
(with a very long time to find the game)
Most optiom seems to work, though -NumPad2: Change Gold By 5000- seems not to work
and -NumPad5: No Mana Limit- seems to get my mana in the negative.

You can upload the game's exe here on the thread and we can have a look at it. Keep in mind to zip/rar the file prior to the upload.
