Here is a bunch of common and famous modes in just one zip file:

It includes:

Realistic physics mod v1
no speed limit mod (speed up to 120 KM/H)
Logo-Real-Volvo-Mercedes
Camera-360

Path of the mods: "My Documents\Euro Truck Simulator 2\mod" folder.

Just simply extract them into that folder.

I also found a really great site that has multiple amounts of mods for ETS2.

Here's a good site to find more mods.

I have a question from a newbie to this game regarding the mods. All you do is to put the .scs files in that mod folder, and that's it? Nothing else needs to be done?

Depends on the mod, but generally yeah that's it.
