So in this palythrough, I joined the legion. I later found out Spoiler:
This was the right choice, as Ulfric is an asset for the Thalmor to destabilize the empire, and have the Thalmor gain more influence in Skyrim.
I did all the legion quests, up the final battle. Killed Ulfric. They tell me I should get rid of the camps. Which I do, however, I cannot kill their officers, and the camps remain, also there is no show of progress.

After killing Ulfric what is left? is there a point to going 'Camp Purging'

    Also off topic a bit.

The Bard's college, I did the main mission, the main guy tells me the professors have missions for me. However, after doing 2 side missions, I can't find anymore, and I am just wondering if being made an official bard is all there is

on the first part i am having the same problem, i myself joined Stormcloak's simply because Legion wanted to put me to death at the start of the game (For No Reason !!) however after i finished the civil war quests there is nothing left ... i was told to clear camps which i kept trying to do but the officers always survive everything... and every time i visited Ulfric he kept talking about how Jarls's need to hold a meeting and make him high king .... "Which hasnt happened yet"

Yeah, it kind of leaves you in limbo. I advanced the main quest (or what I assume is the main quest.) and met the "leader" of the graybeards. Yet, nothing changes... Next step is the college of winterhold, or I might do all my side missions first to empty them out.

Thanks, you've just made up my mind.

I've been playing for close to 100 hours now, and I've avoided the civil war quest line because I couldn't decide which side I supported. On one hand, the Stormcloaks are fighting for the freedom of their country, but on the other hand Ulfric, and a lot of other Stormcloaks, are a bunch of racists. Similar good and bad points with the Empire.

Based on the info you posted, though, I'm off to join the Empire and hopefully overthrow the Thalmor later on.

I have a feeling one of the first DLC's will be focused on resolving this

I don't think there is a "right choice".

Ulfric has the power of the voice. And even with the Stormcloak rebellion quelled, the Empire has become rather weak.

I think that IF there will be a DLC to resolve the conflict with the Thalmor, that the Stormcloaks have a good chance to win aswell.

I mean, Skyrim is once again united under a Nord banner, Talos is restored as a Divine, and the country can work on repairing the damage they have received from a slack empire.

If you mean that it's bad news for ALL the provinces then I can somewhat agree. The empire is weakened without Skyrim and will be easy pickings for the Thalmor. But Skyrim is NOT weakened with Ulfric at its head.

I differ, since with Ulfric on command the Thalmor have an asset as the head of Skyrim. Not to mention they are racist aholes.

The only reason Talos worship is outlawed is because of the Thalmor, get rid of them, that goes away. The best chance Skyrim has is with the Empire and a united Tamriel, and of course Dovahkiin, The Dragonborn.

Well, that's another nice trait of Skyrim. Choose your own adventure.

It's a simple difference of opinions. And I certainly see your point.

One question, what do you mean with "The Thalmor have an asset as the head of Skyrim"? I'm pretty sure Ulfric hates the Thalmor perhaps even more than the Empire. And I agree somewhat that they are a little... closed-minded towards other races, but any race can join them.
