So the other day I lost my earrings @ football lifting so I left them out till I got home and asked if someone could get me a new pair. I was rejected this offer and told they would not close. Well the next day I found my pair of spares (large diamond studs which are okay looking) and proceeded to try to put them in and found that my ears had slightly closed (the left more so) so I pushed them through gently and felt some skin break and the earrings slip in.
My problem now is that the left is no longer healed. I can tell because it has slight irritation (pain but not anything major, just irritating) when I twist my earring (I tend to do this a lot ever since I got them pierced). The thing that bothers me the most is that it seems to have small amounts of what I'd expect to be white blood cells (or as you could call it puss (I hate that word)) coming out of the ear hole.
Could someone advise me on what to do for this. Is it infected or something alike?
Currently the only thing I have been doing is taking them out after showers/ when I sleep and cleaning the earrings with alcohol and then slipping them back in and applying alcohol onto the so I can get it into the hole.
Don't keep removing them. Don't touch the piercings more than necessary. Wash them with some form of antiseptic (I used Savlon spray) and then do the following:
Boil water, pour into a cup and add some salt. Dab this gently onto the wound with cotton wool. Do this until the healing period is over.
You really have to stop taking them out so much. They should be fine to keep in when you shower, and if not buy a new pair of studs. Preferably surgical stainless steel.
All of this has been repeated to me over the years by three piercists.
There's no point having a piercing if it gets infected from being taken out. Either you look after it properly, or take it out and wait for it to be re-pierced.
I advise the latter. I've been warned of blood poisoning risks associated with improper care.
Well of course they are out for two hours during that time they are soaked in isopropyl alcohol (70%) and then when put back in my ears are cleaned with new alcohol so idk.
