My dad's pretty smart, which is good in some ways, but he's also really arrogant. He's hypocritical about so many things. Like driving, he's technically bad but constantly patronizes me about how I drive even though I'm good technically, I just drive fast.
It's like that with most things, he just assumes he's right but if I say anything there's no way it's right. Last month he told me about how our neighbour's cousin said the power lines behind the house are only 10,000 volts. I walked up to them and saw a sign saying 230,000 volts. Guess who dad believed, not me.
My mom though, no complaints at all. She's the parent I'm close too, I tell her things about friends or what I do at school outside of class. We even watch TV together, she used to watch The Sopranos with me on A&E (until I bought the DVDs and found out how much swearing there was) and sometimes I watch The Young and the Restless with her. Mostly we watch comedies together; Everybody Loves Raymond, King of Queens, The Office, Two and a Half Men.
Well my dad does share that quality with your dad. He does think he is right most of the time, and I then lose my mood of explaining it further - Isn't it just like banging your head on the wall?
My mother and I do watch FRIENDS and some regional shows here, so I can relate her with yours as well.
I am gonna create an opposite thread for this, as I have complained too much about my parents.
Restricting stuff for no reason but that "they think its wrong" or "they just don't think its right".
my parents are just like yours
