The trainer works. my game is 1.2.2 as well.

You're both wrong, technically. The game hasn't been patched! It's still at v1.01 but you won't see any indication of that anywhere (file file doesn't give any version number, nor can you find it in-game).

What you're seeing is the version of the 'auto-patch' executable, which is what the game is linked to by default. This is NOT the main game .exe, rather a launcher, which checks for updates and then proceeds to load the game. Don't get confused

-> AssassinsCreedII.exe = Launcher App
-> AssassinsCreedIIGame.exe = Main Game



Also, why don't you actually first check to see if the trainer worked, before shouting for an update. You would have seen that one wasn't even necessary :/
