Not really, activated trainer and selected Numpad 1, crash to desktop... So I think an update is needed
GFWL is now version v3.0.0089.0 btw...

right click on the trainer => properties => compatibility => run this program in compatibility mode for windows xp service pack 2.
this should do it.

Well I guess it was the Ghost in the Machine or just Murphy's Law.. I had never had any crashes or issues with your trainer ni GTA4 and it crashed three times in a row. Which is why I asked for a new trainer.
Lo and behold, it works fine now, although I have had another crash, so the new GFWL has changed the stability a bit. But you were right that is still functions properly. Sorry about that
