"In an interview with GameTrailers (via IGN), Lionhead Studios founder Peter Molyneux divulged his intent to continue the Fable series up to a total of five games -- just when you thought trilogies were in vogue. Showing off that raw ambition we're all so fond of, Peter revealed, "We've got plans for Fable 3, 4, and 5," continuing, "It's a big story arc, and if you play Fable 2, you'll recognize things from Fable 1."
Beyond the next three Fable games, he also let slip that Lionhead is working on a new project. Though he's extremely vague on the details, Molyneux stated "It's kind of the result of an experiment that went incredibly well and we thought 'This has got to be a game'," adding, "I can't say anything about it at all."
Molyneux turned his thoughts to the past as well, seeming genuinely remorseful over the notion that the first Fable didn't quite cash all the checks written by his mouth during development. Without going into detail with regards to what they've improved from the first game, Peter lamented that "I don't think I was skillful enough as a designer to have made Fable 1 better, but I think I've learned so much from the mistakes in Fable 1."
With Fable 2 still three months away, it'll be a while before we know for sure just how much they've learned. As far as Fable 3, 4, and 5 go, we'll let Peter worry about those for now. .
