I never meant to update GFWL (which apparently would cause stuttering issues), but I did install a new game that I assume somehow did this for me since the GTAIV trainer for 1.03 is no longer working right.

Anyway, all of a sudden, the Patch 3 trainer no longer works for the health and wanted level cheats. I loaded up the newest one, and that doesn't work either.

Is anyone else having this same issue?

I did download yet another update for GFWL that was supposed to address the issues with the more recent update, so I wonder if the patch(es) for GTAIV need to be worked into this somehow.

what it seems is happening with gfwl xlive dll file is being updated faster than ch can fix the issue.

what worked for me was to rollback windows updates using the control panel add/remove/change programmes. also, system restore also worked for me ... i hope this helps

another idea that may help as You mentioned installing another game, use system restore to restore settings to before issue came about. if this works n Youre able to play gta4 with trainer, then go to comp-os drive-windows-system32 or system64 ... look 4 three files 2 xlive dlls and xlivefnt dll, make copies of these files and save them somewhere safe , then reinstall new game, after doing so, go back to the folder where xlive dlls are and copy them back into system folder, remember, this may or may not work ... good luck

Thanks for the ideas. I'm not terribly tech-enabled to mess with restores and such...I've tried this before with disastrous results.

Hopefully, as you say, CH will update the trainer to handle the GFWL update.

I did look at the widows updates in the control panel, but they don't seem to specify what, exactly they updated. Further, I installed the new GWFL game (Bioshock) on the 16th, but the last windows update seems to have taken place on the 13th...

windows update would seem to be the issue then, as it will update gfwl , a simple system restore before the 13th would seem to be the way to go. i have my windows update set to notify me of available updates, i do Not have updates on auto, that way i can choose carefully which windows programs are updated. gfwl has an update that i am ignoring as it definately does mess with the trainer. the only suggestion i have left would be to try either the system restore or check out the thread www.cheathappens.com/show_board2.asp?headID=76165&titleID=14338 there is another trainer available thru that thread n now works with patch3 ; give it shot if Ya uncomfortable with using system restore
