duno if anyones tried this, but the save files are openable in wordpad, it looks pretty easy to edit things, such as available weapons, and upgrades etc. if anyone can post a save file from the end of the game, or a list of the weapons and upgrades that are available, we can have whatever upgrades and weaps we want, whenever we want.

Here is a complete list of upgrades including the very rare one that allows more upgrade slots for the weapon in use (last one)

    WeaponUpgrades={
    WU_ACCURACY,
    WU_CLIP_EXTEND,
    WU_DOUBLER,
    WU_ENFERON,
    WU_FIRE_POWER,
    WU_FIRE_RATE,
    WU_PUNCTURE,
    WU_RELOAD_RATE,
    WU_STOPPING_POWER,
    WU_UPGRADE_BOOST,

Link to upgrade and weapons info

It doesnt seem to work, the game auto deletes the savefiles that have been edited when loading the game, i even tried alttabbing and copying over when menu already up, but not luck. Maybe editing and saving the file messes up the structure code in unseen way. Next i'll try using a memory tool to try exchange upgrade mods directly in game.

it is possible to edit the "continue.sav" (i use ultra edit)

you need to be able to see the hex code (there is some not much)

do an ascii search for "playerinventory" , from "Money" to the hex code right before "Collected" is the relativly easily edited stuff

keep in mind that that section of the save file can't change in length (you can delete spaces (ascii character 20) to make room for things to add) next time the game saves it will replace the spaces...letting you add more and more stuff, you also can't change the total file length

also when putting upgrades on weapons you dont need the slot upgrade and can have as many as you want....say....20 of every upgrade

note: do NOT delete any "non-legible" or "non-visible" hex characters, the game will crash on load - hence needing to see the HEX code

edit: the file path for the save on vista is "%user%\AppData\Roaming\Dark Sector"

undoubtedly its different in the other OSes but thats where i found it on vista

also im using the steam version of the game, and the game isn't running when i do the edits (alt-tab causes the game to crash for me)
