I meant do you the concept?

All three are about controlling the battle and getting your opponent to do what you want them to do.

For example, if you have a Zapdos out at about half HP and your opponent switches in a Heracross you can assume your opponent will have a Choice Scarf and will use Stone Edge, that being said you can switch in a Tyranitar to take the attack and lose very little HP.
If you are correct your opponent will likely switch out to their other Tyranitar counter because attacking it with Stone Edge again will do very little (remember it has a Scarf so it is stuck using SE and can't use Close Combat), so you can use something like Substitute to make sure you survive a hit, and attack, another option will be to use Focus Punch to try to take as much damage as possible.

Here is a battle I had a while ago on shoddy, my opponent had decent Pokemon and I'm sure s/he knew how to make a decent team but take a look at what happens when you get predictable:

I'm breeding Chanseys (looking for Calm, Natural Cure, High IV's) and it's taking forever. I was lucky one day and caught a couple of Larvitar's on route 206!

And yes, I use Mind Games quite a bit. Generally and unfortunately, it backfires on me. How to prevent it?
