please help me, how do I get the paper under the plant in the conservatory. I know I need to feed it something, but the only food I've been able to acquire is the parrot's crackers. ty for any and all ehlp

Try this but i am not so sure. You can only access this plant at night, when Mrs. Drake is asleep. Order "Pinky and Perky" from the telephone in Brigitte Room. Go back to the room and eat the food. If you have tried to touch the carnivorous plant before, Nancy will keep a piece of turkey in the inventory. Wait until night, go to the conservatory then feed the carnivorous plant with meat and it will be tame and you can safely read the letter.
