in this case the trainer can't be used in skirmish/LAN games because it's a client-server game.
The server crashes if the client (your side) has different data.
That's maybe the problem people here are getting while using the trainer.
This is something Massive Entertainment AB (the developer) is proud - you can't hack the game in multiplayer (skirmish is on the multiplayer tab of the game) and if a player gets lag the other players on that server don't get lag too unless the lag occurs in the server.
Other games like C&C and CoH uses direct IP between the players and the data is stored on each computer. In World in Conflict the data is constantly stored in the server.
