The Shipmaster of the Covenant ship "Ascendant Justice" was being punished for letting the Humans get their hands on the ship, and for focusing his attention on the Flood when he should of been focusing on protecting Installation 04 from the Master Chief.

The Shipmaster of Ascendant Justice is the Arbiter.

That's not what it says at end of Halo: First Strike... >:-(

They said they would punish him for losing Ascendant Justice.

If memory serves me...the Prophets did what they did because he failed to protect the "Sacred Ring"...from the opening cut scene of Halo 2.

It's times like this that I'm glad I have all 5 Halo books. So, on the last page of the book it says:

"And what of the incompetent, High One? The one who lost Ascendant Justice?

Bring him before the council. Let his fate match the magnitude of his failure."

BUT, is doesn't say anything about who he is. On Halopedia under the article Arbiter(character) it says he was the Supreme Commander of the Fleet of Particular Justice. The fleet that destroyed Reach but failed to protect Halo. So he wasn't the Shipmaster of Ascendant Justice, he was a Fleet Commander. And in the cutscene from Halo 2 the Prophet of Truth says:

"You are one of our most treasured instruments. Long have you lead your fleet with honor and distinction. But your inability to safeguard Halo ... was a colossal failure."

So darkish is right, he was being punished for not protecting Halo. But Chingy mentioned that he later becomes the Arbiter so you both get 1 point.

The three maps released in the Heroic Map Pack were
    Foundry
A small-to-medium sized map where almost anything is customizable. Better used for Slayer or Forge games.
    Standoff
A medium-to-large sized map. It has two bases on either side and has open able doors that cannot be closed once open. They are like a back entrance.
The map also features huge satellite dishes in the backround.
    Rat's Nest
A small-to-medium sized map that has a racetrack like street around the outside. It is based off of the Campaign mission "Crow's Nest".
There is a Pelican on the outside part of the map.

OK, so since xXSephirothXx named all three maps first he gets 3 points for that. He also described two of them so he get 2 points for that and a total of 5 points.

yosup described Standoff very well so he gets 2 points for that. His description of Rat's Nest was also very thorough so that's another 2 points and a total of 4 points.

    Question 8: 1 point

Why was it so important to save Cortana in Halo 3?

because cortana has the index from the 1st halo ring and with that the gravemind could of activated the ring wiping out the human covenant and flood race

In truth the Gravemind wouldn't want to use it, only stop others from using it because it's the only thing stopping him. But you are right that Cortana had the activation index from Installation 04 (ie. the first Halo ring) so 1 point for you.

    Question 9: 1 point

The UNSC MA5B Assault Rifle in Halo CE has an arrow on the ammo display. What does the arrow point at?
