I was referring to pimping, blinging, dubbing, and whatever you're calling it. Whatever you're flavor its going to require artistic talent and serious skill. Pimps and Dubs aren't just slapped together.

No they're not, the person making the rims and body kits puts their heart and sole into it. It takes skill to make good parts.

But the act of buying them takes nothing but money and personal preference. Anyone can get that and that's not art.
I don't want a big car, particularly. I have no need for acreage, and I don't like the fuel bills. But I don't want a small one because they're all like supermarket own-brand cola: weedy imitations of the real thing - Jeremy Clarkson

No, your "flavour" is just personal taste. What you envisage it in reality is imagination. What it is can depend - if it's meant to have meaning behind it, and it's been painstakingly conceived, it's art. If it isn't, it's not art.

And WTF? "Pimping" and "dubbing" are exactly the same... what are you on about?

Skyline stop posting a fraction before me, damnit! >_>

I use both Pimp and Dub in case you need clarification. Alright,Chingy,if I brought a 99 Eclipse to you and asked you to customize it for me,could you do it,all by yourself, producing a perfectly customized, beautiful, artistic master-peice that I'd be proud to drive? I'm referring to real Eclipse, not one on a game. Answer me and be honest. I'm not asking you to pimp my Eclipse. I want it to be a work of art on wheels. Go for it.

    I'm not an artist. >_>

I recognize and respect art more deeply than those who mindlessly spend endless amounts of money just to supposedly make their car look "cool". Discreet "dubbing" is fine. I have no problems with those who spend little on their cars, just for their own satisfaction. I dislike those who spend more than what the car is worth on visual aftermarket accessories, just to make a name for themselves. Nobody spends that much on a car for personal satisfaction.

Those of us owning Dub cars are very satisfied and proud of them. I've seen Dub cars at car shows. There's no doubts these owners put a lot of time and thought into their cars,as well as a lots of cash. My boyfriend Dubs cars for a living. I've watched him work. He puts everything he has into those cars and doesn't stop until they are perfect and form-fitted to the owners personality and attitude. That's art.

To me that sounds more like a commercial exercise. In a bid to draw in more customers, he's persevering to make it look more aesthetically pleasing. That's not art. That's hard work to turn in a buck.

If I were in his shoes, I'd persevere to make it look perfect not only for the customers, but for myself too. I take pride in making every action count. If I don't feel proud of it, I fix it. That's not art - it's a matter of self-worth.

He's very proud of every car he Dubs. Its not all about the bucks. He loves what he does. He has a deep passion for cars. His work is flawless. He hasn't had one disapointed customer. He treats every car as if it was his.
