am not a spanish person but you write it wrong, it's "muchas gracias". "gracias" is a female word so you must use the female side of "mucho" which is "mucha" and since "gracias" is a plural word also, you must apply the "s" termination to "mucha".
or in a more simple way, just write "gracias", since you only write in the beginning "thanks" and not "thanks a lot"
