Ok so after you beat it on legendary you see a new planet....many are saying this is the planet from marathon in return making marathons "john 117" our "MC". Back up info for this is all over the net....just look for it. Howevre its sill just rumors bungies yet to say if marathon is indeed th continuation of halo.

IIRC...the book mentioned the Spartans and Dr. Halsey inside something like a sphere, which was in fact the shield world.
Master Chief finding the Spartan IIIs and Dr. Halsey in the Shield World would be very interesting...
