what is "Street X" and "Grip Battle?"

Street X is from NFSU2, its like a circuit race within a tight drift track. Grip Battle is something new... I'm not sure on the exact details as EA have not released any as such (yet).
did you know that Street X tracks are actually exactly the same as from NFS Underground original? the only thing different is that the street is crappier.
