you could try patching to v1.3 which somewhat fixes the bug with the timing of the key presses not matching what you are pressing. that's why it's so hard. this also effects the dancing in the beach party mission and during dates.
but of course, v1.3 patch doesn't work with the best trainers, or with SA:MP or MTA multiplayer - only v1.0. and v1.3 = cold coffee
