So I really want to get some of the higher spells like shock and flare, but I can't find them. The guide says they are in balfonheim, but they never seem to be there. Is there a certain point in the game when they open up, or do I have to do something specific to get them? I have finished giruvegan and they still don't show up in the shops? Anyone help a girl out here?

Shock and Flare can only be bought from Balfonheim after you finish the Pharos at Ridorana. Same goes for Holy.
And take a look at my guide to see the latest version. I still claim it to be unfinished, but it kind of is...for the most part. Might change that next update.
