My game is less than a year old. More like around 6 months. I stopped playing for about 6 weeks, went in to play one day and now none of them will work. I have The Sims Deluxe Edition, Superstar and Vacation. None of them will play now. They all act like they are gonna load and then a screen pops up that says something to the effect that the ikernel.exe won't load. I've tried uninstalling. It won't let me. Tells me i have the wrong disc in. I put in another disc and it tells me the same thing! I tried to re-install over the original install and it tells me I have the wrong disc in and no matter what disc I put in, it tells me it's the wrong disc. I've went to the Maxis web page help files, did everything it said and it still won't work. I checked for virus and spy/ad and malware and I even tried calling the LONG DISTANCE help line and all I get is a busy signal or no one answers and the one time I did get thru, they put me on hold!!! I talked to a person for a few min, he took down my computer info and then put me on hold for 4 min. I received a $13.00 charge for the total of 6 minutes!!! Thank goodness I hung up after 4 min on hold or no telling how big the bill would have been!

Please, please, please, if there's someone out there that's had to deal with this....HELP!!!

Have you tried going to the control Panel, add/remove programs?

Yes I tried that also. It still gave me the message that it's the wrong disk.

Hubby did get it fixed a couple of weeks ago. Apparently I was almost out of space on my hard drive. He bought me a USB drive that plugs into your computer, transferred a lot of pic, music, game files over to it. Free'd up 1 gigabyte and then did something with the plug ins and free'd up another 1.5 gigs and after that it would let him re-install over old install.
