when i type in the r1 l1 r2 l2 at the main menu, i cant unlock anything. no box comes up. am i not doing it in the right order? how long should i hold down the shoulder keys and is the menu that i enter them in at the very beginning or is it when i pause during game play?

you have to hold them all down at the same time. (at the menu)
