well you should pick it by what you like best. Mudkip: advantage, easy for ruby, beats 1 dont know about the others but its con is its super weak against grass. torchic: fire type evolves into fighting pokemon and fire. bad against first gym good in forests... sometimes bad against team aqua. treeko is somewhat good but bad. ruby treeko is weak ***** but in sapphire its rocks sort of till you go against Archie's Golbat/Crobat (it evolved when you get to the underwater cavern unfortunately but i had a different pokemon by that time and it was my favorite Hariyama but i shouldnt brag about my pokemon

you are not right.the best is torchic.then it evolved in blaziken you can teach it fire blast,earthquake,skyuppercut and ofcourse blaze kick and you will beat elite four and Steven without any problems

Oh yeah? I beat the whole game what seems like 100,000,000, times with treecko! Torchic is a snore. get TREECKO! PLEASE! I recommend him.

mudkip is the best since it's ground electrical attacks don't work at him and with a powerfull ice attack it can beat grass pokemons too!
