well invasion mode is an offline mode. and so is towers. and they both give character mastery XP so I'm assuming its not totally online. I to wish to see an Character XP multiplier

If that is the case, then I also recommend what Nook said. Put in an option request and make sure a savegame is provided that has some of this mastery XP along with an explanation of what it is used for and where.

MK1 requires always online connection. You can play offline for several modes, but your progress isn't tracked in this case. I'm not sure what happens to your gained stuffs if you're offline and then connect online.
Single player components of Kampaign are Story, Invasions (can't be played offline), and Towers.
Playing these modes and winning fights gives three types of EXP - profile EXP (max lv is 100), fighter mastery XP (max lv is 35), and kameo mastery EXP (max lv is 15).
As you reach certain levels, you're awarded skins, palettes, brutalities, fatalities, art, taunts, Kombat Kard foregrounds and backgrounds, and Dragon Crystals.
The fastest way I found to grind all types of EXP is in Invasions, any type of node that puts you against three fighters. Flawless victory with a Brutality on last opponent gives 645 profile XP, 1130 fighter XP, and 315 kameo XP. Game also saves progress each time the fight ends.
In Invasions, as soon as you try playing offline, game tells you are no longer connected to MK1 servers, and puts you back on the main menu. Trying to play Towers or Kampaign offline the game warns you that your inventory may not be synced correctly, and if you're sure that you want to proceed.
Profile XP, Fighter XP and Kameo XP have no effect on Ranked online mode. Your progress in ranked online is tracked by your rank - you begin at Apprentice, and highest is Elder God.

I am using the same method to farm exp, but I do not get that much exp as your describing tho. One way to also max the exp farm, is if the items you can buy in invasion mode, has infinite usage, since u can buy an item, that gives a 100 % exp buff.
