I had time to tinker and as best as I can tell it's the unlimited En code that may have done whatever happened to me. Process of elimination has thus far given me no repeats with skill points and TP cheating.

Does the trainer still work if you buy the games separately, or does it only work if you have the entire collection?

Yes it will still work even if you buy the games separately.

I want to post this as "not working properly" but I'm sure this is more of a bug with the trainer since the options are working properly.

I'm playing the first game in the Etrian Odyssey HD Collection and once the trainer is activated all the battle settings seem to be set to normal even though in the options it's showing as very fast.

As of posting there haven't been any new updates to the game, still shows 7/17/2023 as the last update.

I hope this issue could get resolved soon.

Please use the update notification system to report a game patch, update or to report that the trainer may not be working with the latest version of the game. If 3 or more reports have been filed, consider BOOSTING the priority of this title for a faster turnaround on the updated trainer.

I already put in a Trainer Update request, but I just wanted to show that Etrian Odyssey 3 seems to be much more sensitive about giving yourself tons of skillpoints than 1 or 2. In 1 or 2, you could give yourself thousands of skillpoints with no ill effects throughout the entire game. However, Etrian Odyssey 3 only supports a single hex byte of skillpoints (maxing out at 255). If you give yourself more, then you're actually overwriting vital character traits, which then makes that character invalid. This is why the Skill Point code corrupts Etrian Odyssey 3 characters, making it impossible to even dismiss them (the Explorer Guild won't let you select them at all, despite them being in the list).

The attached image highlights a character's skill points (0A) [which only Cheat Happens staff can see], I'm not sure what, exactly, the surrounding bytes affect, but changing them renders the character invalid. The character can still fight in battle if they're already in your group, but trying to do anything with them will result in the game freezing. A corrupted character will more than likely force a player to restart the game, especially if the first member of your group is the corrupted member, as you can no longer even use Napier's shop to upgrade.



EDIT: I should caveat it with that the skill point cheat does not activate until you spend at least one point on a character, as the character's skill points remain its initial value until you cause an event that makes their skill points change value (in which it will change to display 62 [as it changed your points to 63 and just spent one upgrading a skill] points with the Cheat Happens code, but in actuality, the Cheat Happens code is trying to change your skill points into the thousands with a 3-hex long value change. That value being 3F 42 0F, however only 3F gets rendered and the other two values overwrite other character attributes with invalid data).

Addendum: Also, yes, having any codes active with the Cheat Happens trainer does indeed force the game to always run at 1.0 speed, regardless of combat settings. I have no idea why this particular quirk happens with the Cheat Table. It personally didn't bother me, as I used money and skillpoint cheats and then turned off Aurora in Etrian Odyssey 1 & 2. But I will confirm that this does happen with all three games.
