The editor input field's (x) clear icon disappears while mouse down is held on the field itself, this causes the content's of the input filed to move to the right, which in turn makes it really difficult to select only part of the value to edit (i.e. I want to select 1 in 1000). Would it be possible to disable this hiding effect, as I don't see the value of it while it really degrades usability.

PS: to re-create this, click into the field first, then click again, as if to begin selection

+1 there's no point in having it fade in/out like that it's really annoying to have the text move around when you're selecting it
