When they update the game to Data Decentralization would that mean a trainer could possibly become active again? i know that update isnt out yet just more of a course noob question. Mods feel free to lock this once answered

I would say that it's "possible" depending on what they change but I can't guarantee anything until we see the code. If it does end up being possible then I will see what I can do about putting the trainer back on active status again.
