Reddev is a hero for makin the game but he isnt a god. i'm sure the code is trashy but just so everyone knows the trainer options work, and the editor of bombs and keys works, as long as you dont take a room reward that will be cursed. you can complete everything except beat death with 5 curses with the trainer.

I know this trainer isn't getting any updates currently, but when it does return to being updated (no expectations, the game is still early access too), the crash on curse also seems to be a crash on luck, depending on how that luck is gained.

If the room is going to bestow curse, the game is guaranteed to crash if you take it.
If you gain curse OR luck from an event or shrine, the game crashes without fail as well.
Gaining luck from say, buying a clover or getting it from a trait does NOT crash the game.

I don't know if that info will help for future trainer updating, but it is at least "what happens" currently.

The game has not been updated/patched in over a month now. Would it be possible to update now?
