One of the VR headsets out there..

So far I am thinking a VR kit. My birthday is Monday and I asked for one. If I get it and it's awesome then that is what we will go with. Thanks for the ideas.

Nahhh just joking, although it isn't a joke to millions... but after 5 GPUs, not sure if the people are ready for another giveaway... of that magnitude...

Maybe 5 prizes of a Game of choice? With some nice titles coming up that might be nice.

Yeh, the next giveaway will be more like our July giveaway, strictly in-house, etc. We wanted to go big for our Hot Hardware collaboration and so far there's a pretty big response to it. Lots of people going out of their way to get every single entry they can get. I think one guy has like 1000+ entries so far. Crazy.

BTW, be on the lookout for a BONUS giveaway this month for our L+ and Tier 7 donors. We might have found us a nice extra piece of hardware from a previous giveaway lying around. VERY high chances of winning.

Suggestion: A participation prize, cost-free to the business, that ages well over time -- such as a unique (by date or topic), not-again-to-be-awarded, digital product; like some kind of personal banner, signature tag, badge, or avatar frame.

Initially, such things have minor impact, but over time, they become longevity (honor/merit) items that encourage future participation according to the "keeping up with the Jones'" effect.

Raffles, lotteries, and giveaways have far more impact (read this as integrity) when the recipients are known or credible. It is an inescapable fact that small prize pools targeted at large, disperse participants have inherent challenges to suspension-of-disbelief. Or to metaphorically put it another way, "how do you know the food you buy in a supermarket is organic?" There is an expectation on the part of the provider that they have sufficient credibility to overcome skepticism.

I recognize that "participation trophies" in sports have become smeared and degraded in recent decades by ideologues, but their marketing benefit in the commercial world for client/community relations has not diminished.

Las Vegas learned a long time ago that if you have a million dollar prize, you must have ample "lower value" prizes to make a game attractive and sticky. Giveaways that are used promotionally, must be padded with lower value (more broadly awarded) "wins" for benefit to be maximized. This is supported by both game theory and expected utility theory.

Take of this what you will -- I did a lot of stuff like this before I retired.

Whoo. Not an easy question, to be sure. A VR set would be fun and a good idea. An alternative would be the larger types of curved screens, since you already gave away a couple of good gfx cards?
