I am honestly not sure what the big concern is here.

I am honestly not sure why this WOULDN'T be at least a small cause for concern. I never said it was a 'BIG' concern. I think you're just reading in to that for some reason. It certainly piqued my curiosity enough for me to just ask a question on the message boards.

Is it sending out or receiving 10GB/hour of traffic?

Not sure how that's relevant. Volume of traffic has nothing to do what what I'm talking about.

Have you turned all of the update and other checking off in the user settings?

LOL Gotta admit, this probably my RTFM moment. 😅 I don't often use the TM. I've been gaming on PS4/PS5 a lot of late. Is the message board a good place to get help with finding that setting?

Feel free to share it here, we have absolutely nothing to hide. There are no secret processes encoded into the TM to collect and send any type of personal or otherwise information outside of what WebView2 might be sending which could well be usage statistics, crash reports, etc.

Perfect. Then this is exactly the answer I'm looking for. I figured it would be something similar to this. That's exactly what Google/Facebook/etc does when they phone home on their devices.

We are trying our best to focus on the new AIO project, but things like this deter us.

Things like this? So is my question not legitimate for some reason and it's fully stopping development? I'm confused. Could you enlighten me? Are we allowed to ask questions or are we supposed to know ahead of time that our questions are going to fully halt production on another product?

And follow that out logically. Are you saying that if there's a problem, you don't want to hear about it? What's that say?

The TM has been in circulation for what, 10 years or so and this is the first time it's being brought up?

Not sure what to tell you there, my friend. I don't know your userbase nearly as well as you might. This is your site. You should be answering this question for me, not the other way around. I can tell you in my case I've only recently started using a pi-hole on top of a VPN specifically to monitor this kind of activity on my network. Also because I have VERY limited bandwidth where I live. It's important (not just for the sake of privacy) that I know what's being sent/received on my network to try to make it as efficient as possible. While it's not sending out a large volume, I'd still like to keep my limited bandwidth as free as possible.

Does the TM set off all of the virus/trojan alarms at VirusTotal or Jotti?

I mean, Google doesn't set off any virus scans when it phones home. I'm not sure how this is relevant to what I'm asking.

Would really like to settle this so we can get back to making the next generation of the TM which users pledged almost $400K to make a reality.

Good lord. I'm just asking a question. If a forum post is holding up a half million dollar project, then I seriously doubt I'm the problem here.

Listen, Chris. I love what you guys do here, but you guys have always been bottom of the barrel when it comes to plain old customer service. You treat your users like they're the problem just for asking basic questions. I didn't say you guys had to put everything on hold. I was just looking for answers to curious activity on your application. I'm not lying when I said www.cheathappens.com was the 3rd highest hit on my network. You think I have nothing to do but make things up to come here and complain? I'm not even saying there's anything wrong with that. I was just concerned is all. So I came here to ask a question about it. It's not even a complaint.

Now it's being implied in no uncertain terms that my question is stopping everyone from working on a 'Next Gen TM'? Are you for real? I just asked a question - on an issue that apparently other people are experiencing. Is it a non-issue? Sure - now that I have an answer. But why jump down my throat just for asking? I was just asking if someone could turn down the amount of times it phones home. Competing with Google on that front isn't a good look.

It's not a big deal. If no one understands how this application works and doesn't know how to fix it, then that's fine. I don't really care. I was just concerned about what it was doing, so I asked. I didn't expect it to halt everything - which again, I find the insinuation ridiculous.

Good lord. Go work on your Next Gen TM. I'll just go back to downloading trainers one at a time. Jesus.

I was giving you the best answers as possible and I believe I was friendly to you. But you kept asking again and tried to argue making it sound LIKE it would be a big issue while it actually is not and that's what Chris don't like: Criticize or accuse us about something which is either wrong, or not a big issue or where we have nothing to do with. Chris is also just a human and he's getting to deal with a lot of rude and ungraceful email every day. So please forgive him when he's getting straight to the point.

So back to your original issue/question: Was the answer I gave you acceptable enough to "close the issue"?

Oh, yeah. None of what I said was directed at you. You were perfectly honest and straight forward and didn't accuse or insinuate anything. Like I said, it's not a big deal. It was sheer curiosity. In my first post, I even said it's fine because it stops when I close the manager.

Imagine you sit in a hotline and every day people come to you and complain about this and that in an unfriendly manner. Some people can deal with that but others might yell back at some point.

I'm a clinical systems analyst for a hospital in the middle of a pandemic and talk to physicians that daily blame me for issues that aren't my fault. They scream and yell and demand things get fixed immediately or the patient on the table will die - all because they couldn't type their password in right. I am VERY well versed in this scenario lol but there's nothing I can do about it because the CEO, CFO, CNO do nothing about it since the physicians have then by the balls. So I sit there and take it every hour of every day, and then more is demanded of me the next day because, hey, it's a pandemic. Suck it up, Mr. Lurker.

Video games are my one escape. Coming here and getting the same treatment was kinda the last straw for me too.
