So this is going to be on December 19th, 3:00am Australian time.
Does it always have to be at these ungodly hours every single year?
Why don't we make it 3:00am USA Central Time so it could be 8:00pm for us Australians.
Every year guys the times get more and more unfeasible.
Thanks for listening.
Unfortunately, we cannot please everyone on the planet by having it at [insert convenient local time for you]. We have it at roughly the same time every year, this year being the same as last. We are based in the U.S. and thus the times are based on U.S. time zones. So, no, we will not be getting up at 3AM to host our own event. You are welcome to attend or simply partake in our second chance drawing, if we decide to have one this year. Once again, this is a FREE EVENT that we choose to give away around $40K worth of prizes that NONE of our competitors even care to attempt. And we have been doing it for YEARS. I'm sorry that it's not convenient for you but we could just not have it at all seeing as how we are all beyond exhausted trying to hand out about 15,000 rewards to Kickstarter backers but we decided to go ahead and have it regardless as some people are actually grateful and enjoy the event each year. We came *thisclose* to not even having it at all this year. Beginning to re-think that decision. It's definitely not too late to cancel the whole thing.
I understand your position, however my criticism wasn't that harsh was it to have you reply with "it's not too late for us to cancel" - that seems a bit excessive, no?
Whilst I barely post here, I've had my account supporting you and your team since 2011 - coming into it's 12th year, so, I'd hope you take what I said as feedback - as it was intended to be constructive criticism - not a huge giant rant of some extreme position. The multiple ALL CAPS for words used in your reply comes across like you're unwilling to allow feedback - so if criticism or discussion or feedback is not allowed, let me know.
Perhaps next year an option could be to run this at 8:00pm your time which would be 1:00pm Australian time - that doesn't seem too crazy? Or not.
In any case, you seem busy with your Kickstarter and such, so, you don't need to reply to this - it's all good friend, and thanks for listening.
I believe the sentence where you refer to the hours for this event as "ungodly" will probably make it seem like you are delivering harsh criticism.
While you may not have intended it this way, phrasing is pretty much important with written communication, there is no tone or body language to help someone understand the message as you intend it.
Will there be detailed information about the parts of the "Custom Made Gaming PC" being offered to the winner to make a choice? I would for example prefer a PC but if it's weaker than what I already own I would obviously pick a console instead to sell and upgrade my PC with instead.
I also can't believe I missed this event every year till now even though I have been a lifetime member since 2009. ^^"
Good luck everyone!
It will be a decent PC. It will not be a $7000 PC. We plan on 12th gen Intel or latest AMD if you prefer. DDR5 memory. RTX 30XX video card (which are $1000+ by themselves) or AMD if you choose, 1TB SSD drive, choice of PC case, lighting, etc. NO water cooling with the exception of an AIO CPU cooler. As always you can choose one of the game consoles if you wish if you already have a nice, powerful PC.
