Appears that saves are not sharable for this and Caliber does not have the time right now to play this straight through to the end to unlock mercenary mode. Maybe someone who has it unlocked can make and share a CoSMOS script.

I have not reached there so I am not able to help on that.

The mercenaries is an arcade gamemode that unlocks after completing the game once, it is meant for getting unlocks for the main game. The bells people are referring to are a critical path puzzle room in lady dimitrescu's castle. Apparently super damage breaks this puzzle to the point of requiring people to start a new game file. And the in-game timer is posted when you finish the game and effects your grade and therefore the completion points earned to get unlocks.

New trainer will have Completion Points.

Since saves cannot be traded what would allow you to check that out? If I let you use my Steam account would that work?

I'm looking into it. If people can tell me here how to repeatedly easily crash Mercenaries mode, that would be helpful. Is there some "thing" that you are doing to crash it, or some options that are on that crash it?

This is almost useless information. The trainer is attached at main menu. Obviously the game doesn't crash when you activate the trainer. So what exactly forces the game to crash?
