I got the feeling all this security is just for an incoming store packed with overpriced micro-transactions. It's giving off an Ubisoft vibe LOL...

is there any were else to dl the demo?

Microsoft Store is an option if you are having issues with the Steam version of the demo.

Only available on Steam & streaming with Nvidia GeForce Now. Can't use the trainer on a streaming service though.

Ubisoft isn't THAT bad, EA is...
But as upset as SqE got about the drops I'm thinking the final product will likely have some store item that increases rarity

If it is a live service game, yeah. I can see that as a possibility.
For a non-live service complete game with MTX store?! Don't see how that would happen and it'd be damn weird if they did end up doing it... somehow. They even mention that there won't be any MTX.

On another note though, I don't really understand either what they are so up in arms about cheats though. It's not like there is a competitive element in the game. No PvP. No trading function. The players who are complaining about cheats, I can almost certify that these people are just jealous that others are getting legendary stuff at a much faster rate. "I'm not getting any legendaries! You shouldn't too!" kind of mentality.

Ehh, the worst that will happen is probably no Multiplayer option for cheaters.
Which wouldn't really be a problem since you shouldn't be multiplayering with cheats anyways!

So i'm not worried about getting banned from MP.
Getting banned from the game would just be dumb from their side IMHO.
