Thanks Cypher369. Let me carefully go through your suggestions again. Based on your knowledge of this particular trainer, would the hellraid DLC cause the way the game uses memory buffer to differ?

I'll happily gift the DLC to you on steam if you think it will help.

Possibly, just go to Manage My DLC in the Library page for the game on Steam and uncheck Hellraid, then try the trainer, if it works then the DLC may be the problem. Add the DLC back in and try again, if the trainer fails, then it's my guess the trainer will need to be updated to include the DLC support.

Here's what I did to keep myself busy.

1. Uninstalled Bitdefender.
2. Disabled/Uninstall the Hellraid DLC
3. Went into Windows Defender and added the following exclusions:

C:\Users\USERNAMEHERE\AppData\Roaming\Cheat Happens\0x90\
C:\Users\USERNAMEHERE\AppData\Local\Temp
C:\Users\USERNAMEHERE\Cheathappens\Work
C:\Users\USERNAMEHERE\Cheathappens

Strangely, I already had;
C:\Users\USERNAMEHERE\Cheathappens\Work\Runtime

I couldn't add exclusions for the tmp files or the dll file as they were not in the C:\Users\USERNAMEHERE\AppData\Local\Temp directory.

4. Turned off Windows Defender Real Time Protection.
5. Turned off ALL the Exploitation Protection for the trainer executable. i.e. Control flow guard, data execution prevention, randomise memory allocations, high entropy ASLR...all of these were turned OFF explicitly.
6. Turned off Cloud-delivered protection
7. Turned off Automatic Sample Submission
8. Turned off Tamper Protection
9. Turned off Reputation based Protection

I ran out of things to turn off and think my Windows machine must be the most vulnerable Windows 10 installation so far. Trusting my livelihood to my router/firewall.

Yet...after all this, the trainer still cannot find the game. 😭

Fresh DL of game and trainer, trainer activated right away. How many monitors do you have and how are they setup? You may need to move the trainer window to the same monitor as the game or turn the display setting to extended and not duplicated or only show 1/onlyshow 2.

The .dll's won't be able to set in exclusion until the trainer is activated and they show up in the temp directory. Looks like they removed the option to type in a files path without it existing and you have to pick it from a window popup now.

All my Defender settings are on and active except exclusions, for this trainer it will generate a CH.dll file that may cause issue with anti-virus software.

Thanks Cypher369. Really appreciate your efforts but I'm going to surrender at this point as its not really worth my time. Prefer to be sitting through killing zombies instead. 😝

I've got 2 monitors in extended mode so its one big desktop so its not that either.

If you change your mind, just open a support ticket and request a TeamViewer session, and the support team can dig a little deeper by having actual eyes on your system and software setup.

I'm sorry to hear your trainer isn't working i have dying light steam version 1.34 and i bought all the dlc's too! The trainer seem to be working fine for me. I'm not sure which one im using but i know it's not the new one! At 1st it tells me it cant find game but when i hit f1 it same trainer working! and as i need something like money i hit the option and it works! So maybe try one of the older trainers like i did! Ok good luck!

Thanks matrix501. I might give it a go as there is a community event right now that means every zombie out there is a viral! Easy to kill but still...they are a real nuisance. 😂
