Also, Some things that complicate this game title.
1 save games are not shareable
2 problems that happen on your machine or playthrough may not happen on everyones machine
3 people are using all kinds of mods and trainers and etc on their game and some thing you did 4 hours ago might not crash your game until later in the game
4 the developers didn't intend for you to do some of the things you are able to do with game trainers to the game, so they dont have checks in place to prevent stuff from being out of bounds or scripts from being garbled due to actions people are taking with mods and trainers

Are there not that many main quests? I feel like something got bugged . I upgraded my settlements immediately when it became available to S5 and i have cleared like 7 areas on my alliance map and still no "main" story quest is popping up. Can anyone confirm if they are having similar issues or do i need to complete the alliance map altogether before another quest gets activated? Thanks!
There are still quests,
there is a small bug and it can be confusing, I did this: you have to finish the Lunden area, then you have to go back to your village (Ravensthorpe) and go to the alliance table and click again in the Oxenefordscire area and also if you see it in gray click anyway and he will give you the quest again to continue.
