Feedback, Complaints or Problems

Posting on here because I'm not sure what is going on and I've exhausted the troubleshooting.

Some trainers are not running on my laptop, they say there is no internet connection when there is and also an offline key. EX: Duskers and Homeworld Remastered

But other trainers work fine, like Frostpunk, Elex, and Battletech.

I installed both dotnet-core files, turned off my AV, ect. Funny thing is they will run fine on my desktop though, which has the same setup. Is there anything else I need to check on my laptop? Running Windows 10.

Could be a browser and/or security related issue, have you whitelisted cheathappens.com on the laptop browser?

I've added it like you suggested and it is still happening. One of the things I also did was run it with AV off. still happens. I just find it weird its only happening on select trainers. *shrugs*

What browser are you using and what security software?

Google Chrome and AVG

Either disable safe browsing in CHROME (not easy to find anymore thanks to update) or switch to MS Edge for this site, and you should be fine after that, CHROME had an update to it's security and it is just horrible. Using my memory for this so may not be exact

Click the menu button (⠸ in Google Chrome.
Select Settings from the menu that has appeared. (may need to scroll down and click advanced)
Select Privacy and security. (you can also open chrome://settings/privacy to go straight to the Privacy and security settings.)
Now click More for the Privacy and security section.
Look for Safe Browsing toggle it's buried in there somewhere.

For AVG, disable it before running trainers or turn of it's version of live scanning and make sure trainer is in a folder excluded from virus scans. Empty quarantine folder if needed.

C:\Users\USERNAMEHERE\Cheathappens

may need to be added to exclusions as well. Run trainer as admin, read the instructions and try again.Also check if the AVG firewall is blocking trainer, trainer has to connect to site for authentication, or you can get an offline key. Look for box called Offline Trainer Authentication step 1 and 2
